The services offered by Hawthorn Eye Clinic, but not limited to, include:

  • Cataract Surgery including Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery (LACS).

  • Glaucoma Medical, laser and surgical treatment of Strabismus (squint) and Amblyopia treatment, including Strabismus Surgery.

  • Corneal surgery including Corneal Transplantation (Penetrating, lamellar and endothelial keratoplasties).

  • Keratoconus treatment by Cross-linking Therapy.

  • Refractive surgery including Excimer laser procedures (PRK, PTK, PARK & LASIK), Astigmatic Keratotomy, and Refractive Lensectomy.

  • Oculoplastic surgery including management of eyelid tumours and eyelid disorders such as ptosis, entropian and ectropian. Management of nasolacrimal duct obstructions, including external and endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy surgery (DCR).

  • Treatment of diseases of the retina such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic retinopathy (DR), including retinal angiography (Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA), intravitreal injections and laser treatment.

  • Treatment of infective and inflammatory eye disease.

  • Botox Injections for blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm.

  • Glasses prescription.

  • Treatment of dry eyes and meibomian gland dysfunction, including insertion of punctal plugs and the use of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy and LLLT (Low Level Light Therapy) with the TGA approved Eye-Light system.

  • Minor surgical procedures are performed in the treatment room, major surgeries are performed in hospitals
